Kathmandu – In accordance with the constitutional provision, the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26) is being presented today at a joint session of the Federal Parliament. Article 119(3) of Part 10 of the Constitution mandates that the estimates of revenue and expenditure must be presented by the 15th of Jestha (May 28).
This year’s budget is expected to include an increase in salaries for government employees. According to the Civil Service Act, there is a provision to revise employee salaries at regular intervals.
Since there has been no salary hike for the past three fiscal years, the government has already initiated internal discussions and preparations to increase salaries during the budget formulation process.
