Mustang Trek

Mustang region lies in the western part of Nepal and is officially the name of the district having a Tibet like region. It is accessible by foot or by air. It is located along the banks of the Kali Gandaki river. It is divided into two parts namely the Upper Mustang and the Lower Mustang. Upper Mustang is largely inhabited by Manangi people and goes up to the ancient capital of Lo Manthang. Whereas Lower Mustang covers the part of lower valley along the Kali Gandaki river.

Mustang is the only district in Nepal with its own King. The people of Mustang call themselves Lobas. Their house and temple construction all over the region use stone but mostly mud bricks that are sun baked. Some beautiful architectures in this region are the city wall and the four storey palace in Lo Manthang.

Itinerary in Details

DAY 01

Arrive Kathmandu. Meet & transfer to hotel. O/N hotel.

DAY 02

This day your special trek permits are processed. fly to Pokhara.

DAY 03

Morning flight to Jomsom and trek to Kagbeni (2800 meters).

DAY 04

Trek to Chaile (3050 meter.)

DAY 05

Trek to Geling (3500 meters).

DAY 06

Trek to Charang (3620meters). 

DAY 07

Trek to Lo Manthang (3840 meters).

DAY 08

Lo Monthang - Chosar Valley

DAY 09

Visit Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar.

DAY 10

Trek to Dhi (3410 meters)

DAY 11

Trek to Tange (3370 meters).

DAY 12

Trek to Tetang/ Chusang (3022 meters).

DAY 13

Trek to Jomsom (2713meters).

DAY 14

Morning flight to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.  

DAY 15

Leisure day in Pokhara. It's also spare day in case of bad weather in Jomsom.

DAY 16

 Transfer to international airport for your final departure.
 
The Damodar Kunda (lake) is famous for Hindi religion, it is situated rain shadow are of High Himalayas north of Annapurna range. The elevation of the Damodar Kunda is just 4890 meters; it is cold and windy place. We will recommend to you visit during the full moon of August every year, because every year there is a big festival up there many pilgrimages Hindu and Buddhist visit full moon of August. Usually, you can visit April to September every year. Festival time will be great for visit Damodar Kund. From Damodar Kund, the views are great from some viewpoints a bit higher than the lakes, just a short climb up some of the hills. The Tibetan plateau & Damodar Himal to the north and the Annapurna Himalayan massive to the south. The Damodar lakes are located three days walk north east of the main Mustang trekking route & very close to Tibetan border. Damodar Kunda lies on restricted upper mustang between Kagbeni and Muktinath.

Trek to Ghechung Khola (4000 meters)

DAY 14

Trek to Tetang/Chusang.

DAY 15

Trek Tetang/Chusang to Muktinath.

DAY 16

Trek Muktinath to Jomsom along the Kali Gandaki valley.

DAY 17

Fly to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu. O/N hotel

DAY 18

Leisure day in Pokhara. It's also spare day in case of bad weather in Jomsom.

DAY 19

Transfer to airport. Departure from Kathmandu.
