Dolpo - Kagmara La Trek

Nestled between the Tibetan Plateau and the Dhaulagiri Himal range, is one of the highest inhabited locale, the land of Dolpo. Coined the Bon Kingdom due to it's strong ties to the pre-Buddhist religion of Bonpo, an animist belief. The route meanders through pine & cedar forests and the high valleys before reaching the mountain passes that rise towards the snow peaks of the Kanjiroba Himal, the Kagmara Lekh and the vast Tibetan plateau providing spectacular views of the five peaks of Dhaualgiri. One great opportunity that come in a life time to explore this interesting village and lake shores of Phokshindo (Ringmo) and the legendary Gompa of pre Buddhism Bonpo sect situated on the edge of the lake. On return journey, we make the descent towards Dunai for our last night camp.

Half day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley. O/N Hotel.

DAY 03

Fly Kathmandu / Nepalgunj. O/N Hotel.

DAY 04

Fly Nepalgunj / Dolpo. Trek to Dunai. O/N Camp.

DAY 05

Trek to Tarakot. O/N Camp.

DAY 06

Trek to Makai Gaon(Kami-gaon). O/N Camp.

DAY 07

Trek to Bheda Kharka. O/N Camp.

DAY 08

Trek to Yak Kharka. O/N Camp.

DAY 09

Trek to Dho Tarap. O/N Camp.

DAY 10

Rest day at Dho Tarap for local excursion. O/N Camp.

DAY 11

Trek to Tok Kyu. O/N Camp.

DAY 12

Trek below Numala pass. O/N Camp.

DAY 13

Cross the Numala pass (5,190m) and descend to Phedi. O/N Camp.

DAY 14

Cross the Baga la pass(5,070m) and camp on the other side of the pass. O/N Camp.

DAY 15

Trek to Ringmo at the Phoksundo National Park. O/N Camp.

DAY 16

Rest day at Ringmo for local hikes. O/N Camp.

DAY 17

Trek to Pungmo village. O/N Camp.

DAY 18

Trek below Kagmara la. O/N Camp.

DAY 19

Cross the Kagmara la (5,115m), camp below of the pass. O/N Camp.

DAY 20

Trek to Hurikot village. O/N Camp.

DAY 21

Trek to Chaurikot. O/N Camp.

DAY 22

Trek to Chorta Gompa. O/N Camp.

DAY 23

Trek to Gothi Chaur. O/N Camp.

DAY 24

Trek to Jumla. O/N Camp.

DAY 25

Fly Jumla / Nepalgunj / Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel. O/N Hotel.

DAY 26

In Kathmandu for independent activities. O/N Hotel.

Depart Katmandu

 

Cost Includes: 23 days trekking, 4 nights accommodation in Kathmandu in a 3 Star hotel on bed & breakfast basis, full trekking crew, trekking gears, guide, cook, porters, 3 meals a day i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner, insurance for the Nepalese staff, Entry Permit for Dolpo National Park & trekking permit fee, transportation and staffs, equipments, fuel, meals, walk in / walk out to put point.
