Entry Procedures & Visa Regulations for BHUTAN |
a) A visa is required for all travelers to Bhutan and
is processed & arranged by our Bhutan Counterparts. No
foreign mission abroad grants Bhutan tourist visas.
In order for us to process it with concerned authorities, a
completed visa application form must be forwarded to us at
least three weeks prior to the date of travel.
b) While the visa is cleared in advance the actual
visa is stamped on arrival in Bhutan. A visa clearance
number is issued when the visa has been approved.
c) For all travelers, entering Bhutan by Druk Air,
the visa clearance number is forwarded to the concerned
overseas Druk Air station. Without the clearance number,
passengers will not be allowed to board the flight. A visa
clearance is also required while issuing Druk Air tickets.
d) For travelers, entering into the country by
surface through Phuntsholing (the border town in south of
Bhutan) the visa is stamped on arrival and clearance number
is forwarded to Foreign Ministry's Office at Phuntsholing
for reference.
e) We will handover the Visa clearance number on
arrival of our clients in Kathmandu before departing to
Bhutan.
f) Please request clients to bring Three copies of
passport size photographs along with each of them.
g) We have been notified by our Bhutan counterparts
that as per their Government circular, with immediate
effect, Bhutan visa fee of USD 20.- nett per person has to
be collected by the local tour operator in Bhutan and will
have to pay to Department of Tourism. In order to avoid cash
transaction, Bhutan counterparts will settle the visa fee
locally and include the amount in their invoice.
As such you are requested to kindly collect Visa fee of USD
20.- nett per person at your end for pax. We from our side
will include the above amount in our invoice.
h) For all Fits/GITs travelling during festivals,
visa particulars must be sent at least 6 weeks in advance as
festivals are peak time for tourists and all tour
formalities are required to be completed well in advance
i) Final confirmation of Tour is require for
processing Bhutan Visa approval letter.
